help_outlineUnderstanding Signal Strength
Signal strength is calculated based on multiple factors:
Factors That Increase Signal Strength
- ✅ Stock qualifies for multiple strategies
- ✅ High relative volume (above average)
- ✅ Strong price momentum
- ✅ Low volatility (more predictable)
- ✅ Meets criteria with large margins (not borderline)
Factors That Decrease Signal Strength
- ❌ Only qualifies for 1 strategy
- ❌ Low volume (illiquid stock)
- ❌ High volatility (unpredictable price swings)
- ❌ Barely meets criteria (borderline qualification)
- ❌ Recent gap down or major news event
warningImportant
Signal strength is not a guarantee of success. Always do your own research and never invest more than you can afford to lose.
analyticsTechnical Signal Requirements
ManiBot uses technical signals to determine if a stock qualifies for specific strategy types. Each strategy type has its own ideal signal ranges:
Key Technical Signals
- RSI (Relative Strength Index): Momentum indicator (0-100). Below 30 = oversold, above 70 = overbought
- ATR Percentile: Volatility ranking compared to history. Higher = more volatile
- Relative Volume: Today's volume vs 20-day average. 2.0x = twice normal activity
- Market Regime: SPY position relative to 50/200 day moving averages
- VIX Level: Market fear gauge. Low (<15), Elevated (15-25), High (>25)
Signal Requirements by Strategy Type
- Momentum: RSI 50-75, ATR >50th percentile, SPY above 50 DMA
- Breakout: RSI 45-70, ATR >60th percentile, Volume >1.5x average, SPY above 50 DMA
- Mean-Reversion: RSI 20-40 (oversold), ATR >40th percentile, SPY mixed or above
- Squeeze: RSI 40-65, ATR >30th percentile, High short interest (>15%), Days to cover >3
- Swing: RSI 40-70, ATR >50th percentile, 7+ days to earnings
- Scalp: RSI 35-75, ATR >70th percentile, Volume >1.2x average
Qualification Scores
Stocks receive a qualification score (0-100) based on signal alignment:
- 80-100: Strong qualification - excellent signal match
- 70-79: Good qualification - solid strategy fit
- 50-69: Weak qualification - partial criteria met
- Below 50: Does not qualify for strategy

tips_and_updatesPro Tips for Better Scans
1. Combine Complementary Strategies
Mix different strategy types for better confirmation:
- Momentum + Volume = Strong institutional buying
- Value + Reversal = Undervalued turnaround plays
- Breakout + Momentum = Explosive upside potential
2. Time Your Scans
- Morning (9:30-10:30 AM): Catch early movers and gap-ups
- Midday (11:00 AM-2:00 PM): More stable data, less volatility
- Power Hour (3:00-4:00 PM): Late-day momentum plays
3. Set Realistic Filters
- Don't filter too tightly - you might miss opportunities
- Start broad, then narrow down based on analysis
- Adjust filters based on market conditions
4. Review Historical Performance
Some strategies work better in different market conditions:
- Bull Markets: Momentum and breakout strategies shine
- Bear Markets: Value and reversal strategies perform better
- Sideways Markets: Range-bound and volatility strategies work well

Scan Taking Too Long
This is normal! Scanning 3,830+ stocks with real-time data takes time (typically 10-30 seconds). The scanner is:
- Downloading NASDAQ ticker list
- Fetching live market data
- Running calculations for each strategy
- Sorting and filtering results
Demo Mode Warning
If you see demo data, it means:
- API rate limits have been reached
- Market is closed (data may be delayed)
- API keys need to be configured
Demo data is for illustration only - don't make trading decisions based on it!
